Scottish Terrier


Appearance:

  • This breed is small and strong.
  • It has a short, soft undercoat. The protective top coat is harsh, wiry and erect.
  • The colours of the breed are black, wheaten (white) and brindle (broken black with highlights.
  • Scottish Terriers have a very distinctive feature being its pricked ears.

Description / Temperament:

  • They are very attached to family.
  • Sportive, “love” to dig, and very active.
  • Scotties are very loving, stubborn, good watch dog, alert and playful.
  • The breed used to be a hunting dog, now a companion.

Grooming:

  • Needs to be clipped 2x year. Regular brushing and combing weekly.

  • Height 25 – 28cm
  • Weight 8 – 10kg

Life span:

  • 12 – 15 years
